THE RULES
Yes. You have to follow them.
General
- No fighting, biting, kicking,
screaming, whining, killing, or being rude. None of these things will be tolerated, or threats of any kind.
- Please listen to your staff members. Really, we're all mature here. I think we can handle it.
- If I don't like it, it goes. I am the Law around these parts. Muahahahaha.......
- Please don't join the site if you are not thirteen, as all Proboards rules apply here. If you are pretending you are older, we'll probably figure out that you're not, unless you're uber mature and an uber good writer, then there's no reason you shouldn't be on here anyways.
- Swearing is totally fine here. However, we don't all have f-bomb shelters, so don't abuse it. You can swear in the cbox as well.
- Please don't advertise in the cbox.
- Please do not stretch the board with avatars or signature. For avatars, pictures may be no larger than 150 X 200 pixels.
- Please don't badger people to post. We all have lives. Give people at least a week to reply, then a gentle reminder. Besides, what do you think would happen if you badgered a tiger?
- Excessive drama out of character is O.U.T. Please, we're people, not therapists, and please don't freak out about silly things that go on here. If a fight breaks out...BAM. Three day ban. ZERO tolerance. We like happy people!!!!
- HAVE A GRAND OL' TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
Posting
- No God-Moding or Powerplay.
- On this site, one month in real time equals one season, so four months is a year. This is subject to change.
- We are a literate, intermediate-advanced role play. That means that we have a word count minimum of 200. You will be given a reminder the first time, and then your warning level will increase by ten percent each time you fail to reach the limit. At 100% you will be given a 3 day ban. However, I do not believe this will be a problem.
- Please use proper English, and PLEASE run a spell check. If you have Firefox, check all the red underlines. If not, at least look for lonely letters that are sitting out in the world with no place to go, or use Microsoft Word. I mean, I'm not a stickler for spelling, but stuff like this: Hi m name i Arabel I am a tige. (believe me I've seen the works) xD.
- In character swearing is allowed OF COURSE. Why the heck wouldn't we? God, take all the fun out of life. But seriously folks, keep it realistic. Nobody wants to read through a post going "Lets see, that's twenty five f-bombs, twelve shit bricks, and fourteen "go to hell's".
- Be sure you read these, as there is a password to unlock the character creation board.
- If you are posting away, la la la, and all of a sudden your moving to Italy, please put an UNFINISHED or WIP on your post so that we know you're coming back to finish it...someday.
Big Cats
- The big cats that you can create are as follows: Tigers(generally Siberian can be black and white), Lions - white and tan, leopards, jaguars (black included), cougars/pumas, cheetahs, and clouded leopards. These are the big cats that will be in groups: The Tigers are the Alliance, the Lions are the Pride, and White Pride, cheetahs are Coalition, Leopards are Leap (I actually looked that up ), Cougars are the Mountain Pride, and Jaguars are, well, Jaguars.
- When creating a big cat, most big cats will be a part of the respective group, but it is not required. All cats born in the group only require minimal history. Cats not born in a group, a full history is required.
- If your cat was not born in the group, and is not a part of it, they will be classified as a wanderer. This means that they will probably be chased off if they try to join, as most wanderers remain so for their lives, however sometimes they do get in on a chance....
- No escaped zoo animals. As far as I am concerned, we don't exist. Which means I'm a cat.
- This society of cats is not matriarchal or patriarchal specifically. A male or female might be "in charge", but even so, the groups will generally be decided on a whole, except lions. The lion communities will be patriarchal, because that's just how they are.
- Big cats can roam anywhere in their territory, and their area. That is, if you have a lion, he can roam anywhere in the Inlands. They can also go anywhere in no man's land, but unless there is a battle, no roaming in between territories.
- This is a semi-realistic game, which really means that these cats obviously aren't acting as they should in the wild. However, that does not mean you can create a 2000 pound tiger with wings and antlers.
Other Cat Creation
- You can create any animal, so long as it is a cat. It must be feral, which means no escaped house kitties. This is not Warriors. However, the domestic cat species are allowed, but no specific breeds. They're just small cats, broken into longhairs and shorthairs with all the markings you can imagine. Again, no escaped zoo or house animals. We're all cats here!
- If you are creating a wanderer, then you must have a picture and at least a paragraph of a history. This is because there are a lot of cat species out there, and though I love them, I do not know all of them. You will need a little more information for a wandering class animal than a big cat.
- Wandering cats can travel anywhere in the boards, but are discouraged from the doctorwho is the password territories of the big cats, except a few, such as the cheetahs who are friendly.
- Wandering cats can never have a territory, because they are alone. They cannot claim any of the no-mans lands, or any of the "extras" in the territories. Too many cats travel through to for one cat to claim anything.
- Wandering cats, of course, interact with each other, and other species, but you can't create other species. However, you can insert random comments, like "Get the hell off of my hole!" shouted the groundhog. Something like that.
Breeding
- TWO RULES.
- NOTHING GROSS.
- NO HYBRID BABIES. NO LIGERS. NO LEETAHS. NO JOUGARS. NO LIONEPARDS.
- A few more things: Females must remain pregnant for at least two weeks. Can breed at any time, but don't expect cubs to survive if they are born in winter. Cubs must stay with their mothers for at least a month in real time. I'm not a stickler for genetics, so I'll just give you the number of cubs/kittens, and the genders, and you can create colors so long as it is reasonable for the parents.
Fighting
- Fights can be gory I suppose, and violent. I mean, we don't need to hear the details, basically, keep it PG-13.
- Sometimes there will be territorial battles between groups, or maybe some illegal interaction, kidnapping, I dunno, we'll see the reasons. However, I believe in all of you, and I bet you guys can moderate fights, however I WILL check in on them. If you want a judge, ask a staff member. I'm sure they'll do it. (I will).
- Just as a reminder, if you have your character going up against a bigger cat, the odds are they could be severely wounded or killed. I want realistic fighting. The rest is semi-realistic.
That's all folks!!!!
